Our Lady of Sorrows of Eldern

There was a pilgrimage to a church consecrated in 1487. The Bishop of Augsburg and the legate of the Pope in 1492 awarded the visitors to the pilgrimage indulgence. 1506, a separate pilgrimage priest was needed for the many pilgrims. 1678 Brotherhood was created to worship the Lord in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist with members to the Black Forest and Switzerland. 1695 were built because of the many pilgrims from the Empire pin Ottobeuren a pilgrimage monastery, consecrated in 1710 with 8 new pilgrimage church altars. 1763 received there over 24,000 pilgrims to Holy Communion.
With dissolution of the monasteries was also the pilgrimage on 12/12/1803 a violent end. 1806 church and monastery were broken off in-fields. The confidence of the people of ULFrau-fields could not be quenched. After restoration of the monastery Ottobeuren venerated since 1841 the Virgin of money placed in the eastern side chapel of the monastery church, because of the grace being held there in 1926 by Pope Pius XI. was raised to the papal basilica.
